MEETING DATE CHANGE
Geoff Wong
Please note that the date for the Winter 2004 meeting has been
changed to February 28 (instead of March 13). The meeting room
at the Botanical Garden became available due to a cancellation,
which allowed us to hold the BACPS meeting on our preferred
date.
MEETING: FEBRUARY 28, 2004, NOON, UC Botanic Garden

NEXT MEETING
Date: February 28, Saturday
Time: 12:00 Noon
Location: University of California Botanical Garden, Berkeley
Program: Peter D'Amato and Damon Collingsworth,
"Into the Land of the California Cobra"
Peter D'Amato and Damon Collingsworth will be giving a slide
show on their trip last fall to native CP bogs in northern
California. Darlingtonia colonies were spectacular and the
pitchers huge. Some of the sites had Drosera, Pinguicula, and
Darlingtonia all growing together. You will come away inspired
to make a pilgrimage this spring.
An approximate meeting schedule is as follows:
12 noon - Social, Display Table, Sale
1:00 pm - Announcements and Program
2:30 pm - Show and Tell, Silent Auction, Auction
To promote availability of interesting plants and other items,
we encourage each member to bring one or two things for the
raffle, silent auction, auction, or sale. Bring show specimens,
too, for the display table.

NEWSLETTER EDITOR
Geoff Wong
It is my pleasure to welcome Bob Hole and Christie Fremon as
our new newsletter editors.
Bob has been an enthusiastic supporter of
BACPS and helped us set up a BACPS internet store. As one of
the staff at the Lindsay Wildlife Museum, Bob, along with Joe
Mazrimas and Larry Logoteta, organized a very successful CP
display at the Museum's Spring Garden Festival last year.
Christie is a long time CP enthusiast and finishing a degree in
Technical and Professional Writing.
Together they have already many good suggestions for the
Newsletter and Bulletin.
I'm looking forward to seeing how our publications evolve.

FROM THE NEW GUY & GAL
Bob Hole & Christie Fremon
Greetings fellow CP lovers. We're both enthusiastic about
working more closely with BACPS and working together
on the newsletter and bulletin. We've got ideas, Stephen (our
new Pres) has ideas, and together this should be an exciting
time.
We're still working out details as to exactly who's doing
what around here. For now, and effective immediately, please
use Bob's email address above for all newsletter and bulletin
related correspondence. If you can put "BACPS" in the subject
line of any email you send, it will move to the head of the line.
In the meantime, please join us in a rousing round of applause
for both Geoff Wong who's been doing the bulletin and Greg Lum
outgoing newsletter editor.
